The Quanta Extra uses an external IMU (the Pulse-80) which is separarate from the processing board.

This page describes the mechanical specifications of the Pulse-80. For details on the mechanical specifications of the processing board, please refer to the dedicated section.

Previous external IMU

The previous generations of Quanta Extra used a different IMU. The legacy mechanical specifications can be found below.

Quanta Extra computing unit is a printed circuit board and features a board to board connector as main interface for rapid integration and a remote IMU. The IMU is the Apogee-I remote IMU

Quanta Extra is an OEM product and is not intended to be used without being enclosed within a protective cover that will address all protection and safety requirements.

Origin of measurements

Because the Quanta Extra IMU integrates several MEMS accelerometers, it integrates a built-in size effect compensation and as a result a ‘virtual’ reference point has been chosen to define the Origin of Measurements Point.

The origin of measurements, is the point where the inertial frame, as defined by the accelerometers triad, intersect.

The Origin of Measurement Point is represented by the red target on the drawings below.
