We are now ready to export data to other software and Qinertia offers a very powerful export module to fulfill all needs. You can create as many export profiles as you would lile and each of them defines the output file format as well as a lot of export options such as the output period.

In this guide we will use the standard export profiles that are shipped with Qinertia to export the data to a simple text file and SBET (Smooth Best Estimate) binary file. If you would like to learn more about export module in Qinertia, please read Export Module page.

Export Editor

The first step is to open the export dialog box. You can access it through the File→Exports main menu or hit CTRL+E shortcut. You should view the export dialog box below:

On the left side, you have all export presets available in your Qinertia installation and, on the right side, you view and edit the export preset configuration.

In this example, we are viewing the ASCII: INS at 200Hz export preset and we can edit the output file format itself. To do so, just click in the Text Export Parameters → Configuration preview section to open the ASCII file format editor as show below:

As you can see, you can compose your own output ASCII file format by drag&dropping the fields you are interested in. For each field, you can even change its configuration, select a specific unit (degrees, radians, etc), how many decimal digits you need and so on.

Exporting Data

Qinertia will export each selected preset and you can select as many preset as you would like. It's very convenient if you both need a SBET and ASCII files. In the screenshot below, we have selected both the SBET: 200Hz and ASCII: INS at 200Hz presets. We can now start the export operation by clicking the Proceed to 2 exports in the bottom right corner.

Qinertia optimizes the export operation by doing as many tasks simultaneously. You can review the export task progression in the main window bottom right corner as shown in the screen below.

Once the export operation is completed, you can easily access the exported files by clicking on the folder icon.

Export Result

The sample file below shows the first lines exported by Qinertia. As you can see, the data period is 200 Hz and each line is aligned to UTC time plain second to ease integration with other software. Please keep in mind that everything can be setup and you can, for example, output a file with no header at all.
