It's recommended to use Qinertia with an internet access to benefit from all features and have the best user experience. However, in some situation, an offline mode is required. In this small tutorial you will learn how to use Qinertia offline.

There are two use cases, your computer can have at least once an internet connection or your computer can't access internet at all. We will cover both use cases here.

I have internet access

This the easiest scenario as you can do everything directly from Qinertia with minimal user interaction. This is the best scenario if, for example, you are planning to leave on a mission where an internet access is not guarantee.

1) Start Qinertia and log in with your user credentials

2) Click on your profile management drop down as shown below and select My License option.

3) You should view your current used license details and in this panel you can check out this license offline for a specific amount of time.

4) Choose how many days you would like the offline license and click the Get an offline license button

5) Once successful, you should have the following panel

6) You can revoke your offline license and make it online again at any time by clicking the Revoke your offline license button.

You can still login in/out and connect to internet without any issue in this mode. So if you computer has sometimes internet sometimes not, this mode is made for you.

Don't forget to manually return the offline license when you don't need it anymore. Each offline license also called node locked counts downward your available seats number.

I don't have internet access

In this case, there is absolutely no way for Qinertia to access internet so the previous scenario can't be applied. SBG Systems has designed a licensing system that coop easily with this situation in just a few steps.

The idea is to use Qinertia to get a Host Id that identifies your computer and then visit MySBG management website to generate an offline license file that has to be installed on the computer.

Generating the offline license

1) Start Qinertia and click on the Use offline button

2) A new panel is opened in which you can get your computer Host ID as shown in the screen

3) Visit https://my.sbg-systems.com website from any computer that has an internet access and log in with your account.

4) Goto the Licenses page and select the license you would like to use offline

6)  A popup should appear. Enter the computer Host Id for which you would like to generate the license

7) If everything went well, you should download a license file (.lic extension). Store this file on an USB stick for example to transfer it to the offline computer on which you would like to run Qinertia.

8) Go back to the computer that should execute Qinertia offline. You just need to select the license file to install it as shown below:

9) If the license file has been installed correctly, you should see the following dialog with license details:

9) You are now using Qinertia with an offline license as shown near your user name:

Revoking the offline license

Revoking the offline license with no internet connection is a little bit more complicated. Qinertia has to generate a revoke key that should be used on MySBG management web site to return the offline license.

1) Start Qinertia and go to My License as explained before, you should end up here:

2) Click the Revoke your offline license button to get the revoke key and copy it. You will need it later!

3) Now visit https://my.sbg-systems.com from a computer with internet and select the license to revoke. Then click on the Revoke Roaming Session button.
