Trimble is using several files formats to store or encapsulate RAW GNSS data. The most common ones are DAT, T00, T01, T02, T04, RT17 and RT27.
Trimble RT27 Format
Qinertia can read RAW GNSS data from Trimble proprietary RT27 protocol. The RT27 protocol is an extension of the RT17 protocol that adds support for multi-constellations. Qinertia only supports RT27 as RT17 is deprecated and should not be used anymore.
Qinertia can use the RT27 files for base station data and to compute static or kinematic GNSS only solutions. It can also be used in a tightly coupled INS solution to provide the RAW GNSS data.
T02/T04 Format
Qinertia can't read directly T02 and T04 files format as Trimble forbids it and, unlike other manufacturers, keeps its ecosystem completely closed. If you have T02 or T04 files, you will have to use Trimble ConvertToRinex tool.
It is the same for Trimble/Applanix INS solutions such as the BD992-INS or the APX-15/18/20, all theses products are using the private compressed and encrypted T04 file format.
RINEX Conversion
If you have the choice, SBG Systems recommends to use directly RT27 format for Trimble GNSS receivers as the official ConvertToRINEX often produce buggy results.
