This guide will walk you through the PointPerfect subscription and INS configuration, you can also find some frequently asked questions in our FAQ.

What is PointPerfect?

PointPerfect™ is a PPP-RTK GNSS correction service provided by u-blox. It combines the high accuracy of RTK with the flexibility of PPP, addressing the limitations of each technology.

While RTK offers high accuracy without convergence time, it requires a nearby base station. On the other hand, PPP eliminates the need for a base station but typically has a longer convergence time. PointPerfect optimizes both, providing precise positioning with no need for a local reference station and a much faster convergence time (few seconds) compared to traditional PPP.

Is my SBG Systems INS compatible with PointPerfect?

The following devices are compatible with PointPerfect:

  • Quanta Micro
  • Ekinox Micro
  • Ellipse-N v3
  • Ellipse-D v3
  • Ellipse-N OEM v3
  • Ellipse-D OEM v3

The INS must have a firmware version 5.4 at least to be compatible with PointPerfect .
